Cackalacky Run 2025: Registration Details, Fuel Tips, and Exciting Announcements
The Cackalacky Run team hosted a Facebook Live session packed with updates, Q&A, and plenty of humor as they gear up for one of the most anticipated drag and drive events of 2025. Here’s everything you need to know:
Key Announcements from the Livestream
Registration Details
General Registration: Is OPEN!!
T-Shirt Orders:
Each participant receives two T-shirts (one for the driver and one for the co-pilot).
Unsure of your co-pilot’s size? Order a second shirt for yourself instead.
To guarantee your size, register by February 14.
“Don’t wait until the last minute if you want your shirt to fit perfectly!” the team advised.
Extra T-shirts and sticker packs will be available at the event, but sizes may be limited.
Participation Numbers
The event is capped at 250 cars for racers. While the team doesn’t expect to hit that limit, they’re preparing for a packed event.
For non-racers, the Cackalacky Cruisers program allows families and friends to participate without competing, offering T-shirts and event access.
Fuel Planning and Track Details
E85 Availability:
New stations near Rockingham will carry E85, including a Sheetz location.
Fuel options near Wilmington and VMP are limited—plan accordingly.
Racers can arrange for others to carry fuel if needed.
“Don’t get stranded without fuel. Plan for your route, especially if you’re on methanol or E85,” they emphasized.
Track Camping:
All tracks will allow overnight camping.
Each morning, campers must check in, sign waivers, and pay entry fees.
Wilmington camping options are being finalized.
Drive Day to Wilmington: After Day 3, participants can enjoy a scenic drive to Wilmington with a planned beach visit and fun activities.
“We’re working on something big for the Wilmington stop—stay tuned!” they teased.
Exciting Features of the Event
Racers can change their class up to the first time-slip submission, allowing flexibility in competition categories.
Checkpoints will be published in advance to help spectators join in and allow racers to plan their routes.
Safety and camaraderie are top priorities for first-timers. “Find a group to travel with—you don’t want to go alone,” the team advised.
Boosted Performance on the East Coast
“If you’ve never raced on the East Coast in March, you’re in for a treat,” they said.
Cooler temperatures and low DA (density altitude) mean cars will make more horsepower.
Example:
Sharon’s supercharged car runs 19.2 pounds of boost in the Carolinas versus 14 pounds at higher altitudes like Bandimere.
Community Vibes and Laughs
The livestream wasn’t just about logistics—it was filled with humor and banter, creating a welcoming vibe for participants.
On Extra T-Shirts: “If you don’t have a co-pilot, just take two shirts for yourself—no judgment here!”
On Track Camping: “Don’t forget your stuff this time, Track Jesus!”
On E85 Apps: “Gas Buddy is horrible. Don’t even bother!”
The team encouraged racers to share the event widely:
“More people, more fun! Let’s fill the parking lots with trailer burnouts and hotel parties.”
Quote of the Night
“We’re not just hosting an event—we’re building a community. Bring your cars, your energy, and your friends. Let’s make this an unforgettable week!”
