Drag & Drive World Champion Points Series presented by Summit Racing

Welcome to the 2024 Drag & Drive World Champion Points Series presented by Summit Racing! 

We are rewarding the best performing racer within the drag and drive community! The Drag & Drive World Champion will be THE racer that finishes events, wins classes and sets records. 

Points Eligible Events structure:

The Drag & Drive World Champion Points Series is based on the performance of racers from National Level Drag and Drive Events.

Rules for National Events:

Follow a format requiring racers to make an ⅛ or ¼ mile pass, drive the required minimum mileage, and make ⅛ or ¼ mile passes again until scheduled racing is complete.

Minimum of 1 time slip per day of racing required.

Minimum of 4 days of scheduled competition (rain out days recognized from Promoter)

Competition is defined as: Time between Drivers meeting and awards ceremony. 

Minimum of 500 public road miles driven during event. 

NO Support vehicles Allowed for Racers.

Racer ETs calculated to determine Racer Averages. Racer Averages determine standings/Class Wins. 

Drag & Drive World Champion Event eligibility: 

A Drag & Drive World Champion Points Series eligible event must meet the Minimum National Event Rules PLUS the following criteria:  

Submit Final event results to Drag Drive Repeat, or make results public PRIOR TO DEC 2.

Event must begin no earlier than January 1st and end no later than December 1st of Calendar year. 

If an event has an ⅛ mile track day in their schedule, those ETs will be calculated to ¼ mile ET with a factor of 1.545 (5.50 x 1.545 is 8.498) for ease of data entry. Plan accordingly….

Drag & Drive World Champion Points Structure

Must Meet ALL Rules from above

Points Awarded from Racer’s Top 3 National Events 

Racer may only use ONE 1/8 Mile Event/Class for Scoring

Pass Tech: 1 point

Each Day a pass is submitted – 5 points (max 15 points)

Complete Event: 10 points (26 points total for event completion)

Class Win – 8 Points

Runner-up – 5 Points

Third – 3 Points


Bonus Points per Event:

5 Sec ¼ (<4.100 Sec ⅛ Mile Event/Class) ET Event Avg: +8

6 sec 1/4 (>4.100-4.99 Sec 1/8 Mile Event/Class) ET Event Avg: +4

7 Sec 1/4 (5.00-5.49 1/8 Mile Event/Class) ET Event Avg: +3

8 Sec 1/4 (5.50-5.99 1/8 Mile Event/Class) ET Event Avg: +2

9 Sec 1/4 (6.00-6.499 Sec 1/8 Mile Event/Class) ET Event Avg: +1

Lower Class ET Average Record (per event class) (inaugural event/class does not qualify): +1

**In the event of a points tie, Points Champion will be Awarded to the Faster Average across racer’s three events**


8.50 & 10.00 Points Champion presented by Summit Racing

We use the same points structure for an 8.50-9.99 Champion and 10.00+ Champion. Follows same points structure of Drag & Drive World Champion. 

8.50 Points Champion (8.50-9.99 ET Range) - Minimum of Two Event ET Averages must be between 8.50 and 9.999, Third Event ET Average can not be Quicker than 8.500. 

10.00+ Points Champion (10.00+ ET Range) - Points accumulated from 10.000 (6.500+ ⅛ Mile) Event Averages and above. Points accumulated from ET Averages below 10.000 (6.500+ ⅛ Mile) are ineligible for 10.00+ Points Championship.

**In the event of a points tie, the 8.50 or 10.00+ Points Champion will be Awarded to the Faster Average across all three events**

Where will this be awarded?

This will be part of the Third Annual Drag & Drive Awards presented by Summit Racing on Thursday Morning during the Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow 2025.

What if an event doesn’t qualify for Drag & Drive World Champion points, will our results still populate the Drag & Drive Racer Lists presented by Summit Racing? Yes. The races that are not eligible for the Drag & Drive World Champion Points Series WILL STILL have their results calculated for the Drag & Drive Racer Lists presented by Summit Racing. 

The racers that earn a spot on the Drag & Drive Racer Lists will still be awarded at the 2025 Drag & Drive Racer Awards presented by Summit Racing at PRI 2025!
