1150+ Competitors in June 2024!

June was a huge month for the drag and drive community, filled with events and record-breaking participation. Let's dive into the numbers and highlights.

We talked on several Drag Drive Repeat Shows about June 2024 being one of the best months for drag and drive competition with eight events across the world! Eight events visited 24 different tracks and saw more than 1000 racers!!

Event Tracks and Racer Count:

  • Drop the Hammer: 2 tracks, 54 racers.

  • Olympic Drag & Drive: 2 tracks, 68 racers.

  • Sick Summer: 4 tracks, 317 racers.

  • Alaska Speed Week: 2 tracks, [awaiting reply].

  • UK Street Weekend: 2 tracks, 200 racers.

  • Big Sky Race Week: 4 tracks, 124 racers.

  • BC DragIt Challenge: 4 tracks, 69 racers.

  • Rocky Mountain Race Week: 4 tracks, 326 racers.

These events showcased the passion and dedication of racers have for this style of racing, with Sick Summer and Rocky Mountain Race Week standing out for their huge turnouts. This is a huge month for our sport! In fact, it may be the largest monthly racer count in history!

The great thing about the breadth of events are the ET averages we saw as well. For now, we’ll focus on the National Level events, those with 4 days or more of racing.

Quarter Mile Class Average counts for the month of June:

  • 6 Sec Average: 3 (2 are Bryant Goldstone!)

  • 7 Sec Avg: 5

  • 8 Sec Avg: 25

  • 9 Sec Avg: 50

  • 10 Sec Avg: 80

  • 12 Sec Avg: 101

  • 13 Sec Avg: 55

  • 14 Sec Avg: 38

  • 15 Sec Avg: 11

We say it all the time but a 10-12 Second Street Car is great. The car will do great burnouts, is relatively reliable and typically sounds awesome!

Eighth Mile Class Average counts for the month of June: (this is a condensed version, there were several slower cars but only a single car per ET range)

  • 4 Second Average: 1

  • 5 Sec Avg: 13

  • 6 Sec Avg: 22

  • 7 Sec Avg: 20

  • 8 Sec Avg: 15

  • 9 Sec Avg: 12

  • 10 Sec Avg: 4

  • 11 Sec Avg: 1

  • 12 Sec Avg: 1

Listen to me, get in your car and get to an event, no matter if it’s fast or not!
